Canberra are more mobile & skillful.
They have some hard hitting brutes in Papa & Soliola.

The perfect mix for a forward pack.

Apart from Tohu Harris & Ben Murdoch-Masila we've got a couple of young pups in Murch & Katoa that have plenty of promise. And their potential is enormous. Katoa already showing us he'll be our pack leader alongside Addin Fonua-Blake in years to come.

Bit off topic lol. But I wanted to compare pack sizes. We have a very big pack. On par with Storm/Panthers/South's.

Just not as battle harden as those teams I mentioned. We'll get there.

It was a good Trial to watch, the first 20 minutes worried me a bit but then we settled in OK.

I'm really struggling to see Egan as the great hooker posters on here see him as. To me he's just bog standard, and I guess out of all the 16 teams, he would struggle to get a gig elsewhere....

Looking for to the season proper, I think we'll beat the Titans, and the Titans and ourselves will surprise a few teams this year.

I’m not expecting anything too dynamic from Wade early on. He appears to be being developed as an 80 minute (or as close too one) game manager in the hooking role. Utilising the strengths of the team rather than the individual.

While it would be nice to see some havoc up the middle like what Koroisau or Reed Mahoney do regularly, he hasn’t shown us he’s that type of player. I’m guessing Brown has him doing what he’s best at, managing the middle, getting the big boppers onto the ball and establishing a platform for that roll-on up field. I’m sure he’ll get through his 80 minutes each week if this is the plan?

In that respect he’s just a cog in the Warriors machine. The halves need to be creative on the back of any of that forward momentum. Let’s see how his game develops with a full strength halves pairing.

Nice post, but I think people are hoping he becomes an 80 minute hooker, why? I guess it's because Lawton is down and out, and we have no back up.

Nothing I see, shows him as dynamic or an 80 minutes player.....I'll even go further and so he's the most one dimensional hooker in the comp.

I'm not convinced he's going to get any better or is what we want.

I actually thought Wade came on in the 2nd half of last season as well as any player in our team, he showed huge improvement on attack. Whilst he may not be a hugely dangerous runner from dummy-half, his ability to get out of the ruck quickly and give front foot ball, often back across the opposite side of the ruck, was super dangerous for us and a key catalyst for our offensive turnaround last season. That style of play is perfect with our forward pack, Harris and Murchie reaped the rewards running off it late last season, it is very difficult to defend.

Interesting too that Brown was bought in as a “consultant” to help out in the hooking department that time last year, which probably also helped a lot.
