Manly hooker Apisai Koroisau is nearing a decision about his future with interest from as many as half a dozen clubs.

The premiership winner’s most viable options are the Bulldogs and Warriors as neither club would need to move other players to balance the salary cap like their fellow rivals.

Koroisau still has two years left on his Manly deal but the Sea Eagles are letting him explore his options.

The Warriors offer is more lucrative but he is looking likely to move to Belmore on a three-year deal according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Manly have noted young gun Manase Fainu as a long-term No.9 and a move for Koroisau would free up salary cap space for siblings Jake and Tom Trbojevic to stay on as expected despite recruitment interest from the Bulldogs.

Canterbury are looking at the Knights for more signings after being unsuccessful with Jesse Ramien as they remain in the mix for Herman Ese’ese, though the coaching change has made talks more complicated.

Was at the members forum last week and someone I was talking had a word with Peter O'Sullivan. He told him that we had 2 spots left in the top 30 and one of those would be filled soon with a new hooker. Official club confirmation will be announced very soon...

Article on us chasing Wayde Eagan.

Also Andrew Johns' thoughts on him.

The most promisng part is the details at the end about having cap space. Well providing we can use it.

Warriors eye Panthers hooker Wayde Egan for next season

The Warriors are looking to sign Wayde Egan from the Panthers as the club's replacement for Issac Luke.

The hooker toured the Warriors' Mt Smart Stadium facilities on Friday to get a gauge on what life is like at the club.

The 22-year-old Egan played 18 games for the Panthers this season, but with the arrival of Api Koroisau from the Sea Eagles, who the Warriors were also chasing, for next season Egan was told he could look elsewhere.

Egan was only told of this recently, which would have surprised him as he signed a two-year extension with the club at the foot of the Blue Mountains earlier this season, which should have kept him at the club until the end of the 2021.

But with Koroisau arriving, it became apparent that Egan would be behind him in the pecking order in coach Ivan Cleary's mind.

The Warriors have been after another hooker for a while and it was clear from early this season that they wouldn't be wanting to keep Luke beyond this year.

There is also Nathaniel Roache and Karl Lawton on the Warriors books, but the former has been so injury prone since making his debut in 2016, playing just 26 games over that period.

Lawton was impressive during his nine NRL games this season and was preferred ahead of Luke in the starting team during that time.

But the arrival of Egan does give the team more options in a key position.

Egan though would be the front runner to claim the No 9 jersey at the club.

One fan of Egan's is league icon Andrew Johns who has said he sees traits of Cameron Smith in him.

"I hate to say it, but he reminds me of Cameron Smith when he first started," Johns said at the end of last season.

"He hasn't got the bulging muscles but he's very efficient in the way he plays.

"Every time I look at him when he's at dummy-half, he's always watching the tight defenders and markers.

"He's always watching the defence and he lets them make his decision for him."

Egan has come through the Panthers' system and in 2017 he was named the club's NYC Player of the Year while also being selected in the NYC Team of the Year.

The Warriors have a couple more spots to fill on their roster for next season because of the departures of Luke and Ligi Sao, plus the retirement of Blake Ayshford.

There is also a fair amount of salary cap space available.

The Warriors were slightly under the cap for this year, although within the NRL's limits.

So with the contracts of those three players coming off the books, there is the money for some decent signings and Egan may be the first of them.

She may be more favourable to NZ who knows...still that would be a big separation from her lad.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck believes the impact of rising star David Fifita at the Warriors would be great enough for the club to win their first NRL premiership.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Warriors are the latest club to enter the race for the Brisbane Broncos teenager, with the New Zealand franchise preparing a $1-million-per-season offer for the damaging forward,

The massive deal would deliver Fifita the richest contract in Warriors history.

The Warriors face stiff opposition, with Fifita being chased by a string of clubs including the Rabbitohs, Roosters, Bulldogs and, of course, his current club, the Broncos.

Tuivasa-Sheck, who knows what it’s like to sign a blue-chip contract, having switched from the Roosters to the Warriors in 2016 on a multimillion-dollar deal, said Fifita would be worth every cent.

“I believe so,’’ Tuivasa-Sheck said.

“We’re very close to being a (premiership) contender, but Fifita is one of those players that can take you that extra step and fill the ultimate package for a club.

“He’s a perfect fit for every club. He’s got the speed, he’s got the power.

“He’s a prop, too, but he’s got skill. He’d be a massive win for us if we’re able to land him.

“But if we do or if we don’t, you’ve just got to go with what we’ve got here and I’m confident we can do something special in the 2020 season.’’

The 2018 Dally M Medal champion said that if he wasn’t busy becoming a father and in the midst of a Test campaign with the Kiwis, he would’ve picked up the phone to the 19-year-old Junior Kangaroos star.

“I don’t know him personally, but I would love to try and give him a chat,’’ the Warriors skipper said.

“I’ve seen the media and I got excited myself.

“I asked the coaches, how is this guy going? And he said, you know there’s a process, you can’t just go and talk to him until November 1.

“You’ve just got to let it play it out and play to the rules.’’

Rival clubs chasing phenom

One player Tuivasa-Sheck is certain will be at his club next season is Penrith’s promising hooker Wayde Egan.

Egan has been let go by Penrith to forge his career across the Tasman.

“I’ve heard big raps about him as a hooker, so getting someone like that is always special,’’ Tuivasa-Sheck said.

“I’m looking forward to getting into some work with Wayde and seeing what we can produce.

“We started last year working out who our key middles are and that’s really important, finding our alpha-male and someone who is going to lead the pack.’’

Not sure how anyone can think that one player can make us a premiership contender. It's such a nothing article anyway.

True it's a junk article that will only assist his manager.
1 player may not win us a premiership but they can make a difference.

From your own post on Shaun Johnson Nov 29, 2018

With Johnson on the park, the Kiwi club won 47 per cent of their games (76 from 162). When he was missing, that figure dropped to 23 per cent (five from 22).

Players can make a difference, not disputing that. No-one would. But to say he would make us a premiership contender is the stuff of unicorns, magic carpets and a large amount of delusion based on where we currently are.

Maybe work on his Tongan side - a lot of Tongans here and I’m sure family members here in Akld too.
