Support/Announcement 2019 Tipping and Bookie Competitions Open!

Hi Everyone!

It's that time of year again where we run our tipping competitions! A great improvement this year is that both the Knockout Tipping and Regular Tipping can be accessed from the one tab - Tipping on the menu as shown:

Quick recap on rules for those who are new:

Knockout Tipping:

• Each week pick 1 team that you think will win. Pick the correct team, go through to the next round without a strike. If you pick an incorrect team, you get a strike.
• Each player must be entered by the start of the first season's game. This deadline is is: March 14, 2019 - 7:50pm UTC/GMT +11:00 Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart (AEDST). Please note that for all competitions, the times will adjust for you personally based on what time zone you have set in your Preferences.
• NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN AFTER THAT TIME. ENSURE YOU JOIN THE POOL AND MAKE YOUR PICK BEFORE THEN.
• Triple elimination - this means three incorrect picks (which produce strikes) mean you are eliminated.
• A draw counts as a WIN.

Tipping:

• Make your pick for each team you think will win.
• Enter whenever you like. Best to start at the beginning of the season, to ensure you maximise your chances to win!
• 1 point for a CORRECT HOME PICK.
• 1 points for a CORRECT AWAY PICK.
• 5 points for a DRAW PICK.
• Please note that these point values may change throughout the season, but we will inform you of adjustments in this thread if they are made.

Bookie

• Events will be posted shortly. Stay tuned.
• Each user starts with $3000 Bookie Cash. All cash has been reset back to this amount for the start of the season.
• Cash bonuses may be awarded later in the season.
• Make bets on each of the outcomes, and hope that you bet on the correct outcomes.
• If you pick a correct outcome, your return is whatever you originally placed on that outcome + whatever the odds payout.
• Access via the Bookie tab in the menu.

Sup42, our little discussion on realism v blind optimism strayed a bit off topic for the Warriors / Bulldogs Team List thread, perhaps this is a more appropriate thread to point out that ( early days yet, mind ) not one cent has gone on the Bulldogs in the bookie comp nor any votes for them in the KO tipping. Maybe this shows optimism is out of control on this forum or maybe that optimists are just more free with their hard earned forum cash 😉

Last call. Knockout comp will close for entry at the start of the last game of Round 1.

Everyone has received $2000 additional Bookie cash to put on the bookie events. People with previously zero balance may have noticed that no social welfare payments were coming through each week - that is a quirk of the upgrade that was done for this season. So as a result, everyone has been given the extra cash to splurge.

Remember, gamble wisely (put it on Rabbitohs 13+ this week).
