Internationals 2019 Oceania Cup

The Tongan game was a brilliant game of footy, loved every minute of it.

Tbh i see every Tongan victory (even tho im a Kiwi supporter) as a win for International footy.

I get that it's come at a cost especially to the Kiwi's but the impact and focus Tonga's bought to the international game (which lets face it had been shamefully left to rot) has given the game at that level a real shot in the arm i hope the powers that be dont let squander.

Tbh the only ones that i could see that should be unhappy at Tonga's emergence is the NRL backed State of Origin machine.....but i guess the odd fossil is as well ;)

The Warriors I hope were taking notes on developments.

Form in one game doesn't mean it will be permanently repeated. But out of all the teams there must be some talent looking for an opportunity.

What an opportunity for the club to show potential recruits around, if they can't snag a couple we really do have problems.

Ok I hear you we do have issues but can we band aid the cracks to stop the leaking before more jump ship or are pushed.

The international season is over , the RWC is over ... when are we going to see some announcements? These announcements should be based around recruiting or significant changes at the Warriors.
Season ticket sales are down for next season and this will be one way of trying to turn this around. This has to happen pre Xmas, we can’t hang aboutwaiting and hoping that we pick up a reject 2 weeks prior to kick off.

If they aren't here now they probably won't be coming.
Watching the kiwis game I'm expecting a big year from Ken Maumalo. He was impressisive and seems to be going from strength to strength.
The guy just keeps on improving and shows no signs of stopping. He really is on the way to greatness.

But how sustainable is it? Who is going to grow the game in Tonga or Samoa? Or Fiji, PNG for that matter? I don't see any growth at all. And it appears if you don't pay them, the players get shitty.

How sustainable is it? Um one just needs to look at the demographics of the NRL (particulary at junior level) and the proliferation of the Polynesian influence to see that so long as these players have an International team to aspire to, the depth of these squads should only get stronger.

I take it then you dont get shitty when your employer farks your pay up? Also if it was about money these guys would've stayed with Oz, Kiwi's, or state of origin.
