An absolute load of shit. I respect Brain Smith and what he has done in the game, but his comments around not changing coaches because great clubs have consistency sounded like a desperate man making an apologetic as to why the head coach and everyone around him should remain (himself included). You can't refer to the past as a reason to over gloss current underperformance.

I would have three questions for the head coach.

1. Has the team performed better under your leadership?
2. Is the environment you are overseeing getting the best out of people in it?
3. If the answer to the first two is no, why should we have confidence in you moving forward?

Not rocket science.

I agree it looks like that, a hell of a lot like it actually, because he and SK are probably an employment item, if not Cameron George as well.

Having said that there seems no doubt at all he is having results in the junior development. Ok, as he says, we never had any in the first place so any improvement is of note, but I wouldn't be sacking him just yet.

Also, and I hate to say it, although I don't think SK is a first grade coach, the win over Canberra, when our forwards rolled theirs, and the performance of Brisbane tonight against a side we actually beat except for seriously bad reffing makes me think he isn't as hopeless as one might think just watching our boring style of play.

So yes there was too much bullshit at the forum, but it wasn't so much from Smith as Cameron George.

Smith has had only had two years so I’d be hoping we’d give him a fair bit of time. It’s not like we have another 300 game NRL coach waiting to slip in to the role if we fire Smith. Ditto for O’Sullivan we had Bell and Iro as our recruitment guys before him. Kearney and George on the other hand are far more expendable.

Thanks for uploading 1995Warriorsfan

Interesting to hear Green say that he would like the two new recruits for next season to be a couple of giants.

Nov 1st.

Been saying it all year. We're going to go hard at guys who are young, talented, and big once that date ticks over.

We're going to offer them money based on potential and if we manage to get any of them we're going to try and orchestrate an early release on the basis of "Why would their current club develop them for a year just to see them walk out?"

Will it work? Fucked if I know, probably not cause Warriors, but we're going to give it a go IMO.

I can see myself in February with 2019 memory loss, watching these new young guys run up the sand dunes and thinking 2020 is our year.

I think we are all being conditioned to lower our expectations, the more I think of it, I think Boy George will be in the firing line, and possibly SK will be moved sideways

I can see Smith having a more hands on involvement as new management will demand accountability, results, bums on seats, more income.

Follow Canberra's model, not the most desirable place to live but look at them now.

I just hope there's perspective skewing photos of those sand dunes so we can over analyze and pick out our next superstar before he's even played a game.
Yeah you totally could tell who the lip droppers were going to be from over-analyzing those photos at the beach..

Finally had a chance to listen to the forum recording and I’m backing them to get the club to where it needs to be. The key for me was right at the end when they asked what we needed to do to be a top club.

- Green said as a 14 year old in Aussie he was doing preseasons at a high level and then they said we have 19/20 year olds doing their first proper preseason. (Everyone calls for Aussie pros, we are going to make them)
- They need young guys NRL ready so the coach doesn’t have to teach them the basics for 2-3 years in first grade. (Everyone’s watched our juniors hit first grade and struggle)
- the Roosters spend 1-2m (outside the cap) developing their young talent. (It’s acknowledged we have spent nothing)

When Green, Smith, Corvo, Kearney and Blair are all saying the key to becoming a Storm or Roosters is we need to get better players coming through our system, then I back them. They have more experience than this whole forum combined!

Changing the coach or the players will change nothing (we’ve already proved that), it’s embedding a holistic approach into the entire club from the bottom up that will get results.

In Smith I trust!

Was impressed with Kearney as well. Just like in the preseason doco, he’s a different person when he’s not in front of the media. He was actually good to listen to, made some interesting comments, rationalised his points, was funny at times and generally a completely different personality to what we get used to.

I agree he comes across better, but I am getting less impressed with him as time goes on. I don't like sulky types.

Hearing it will take 3 years before things improve is pretty disheartening. Also goes against the rhetoric last year about pushing for a premiership in 2020. A lot of that has been from the CEO and his job is partly to talk big to sell tickets.

Heard George on RadioSport a lot dismiss rebuilding and talked about the aim should be to win the competition. It is admirable. Maybe the last two years have worn on him or the Smith & O'Sullivan brains trust have laid out how bad things are.

I would put it down to George if in doubt resorting to bullshit.

Yep.

If Warriors doing well.
"We are aiming for a premiership within next few years" or "we have turned a corner"
Else Warriors doing shit.
"It will take a while to turn this ship around after the damage the previous management/ownership did"
Endif.

He's just making excuses. They all are. Real leaders take ownership and take action. People conserving their roles look for excuses.

One guy who interests me is Brian Smith. When he was a coach he didn't accept excuses, just the opposite. Having said that he seems to be doing his bit, and he must be frustrated to be having to deal with the shite this cub has produced.
