Making 30 pts, including the Bye. Finals footy, here we come! We might be unfortunate to miss out on Top 4 by points differential, but much more likely by competition pts. 5-6 is where we end up. So, helloooo Finals game at MSS.

lay off the meth cuzzy

It would be nice to win more than 4 games away from Mount Smart next year, coincidentally the number we have managed in total over past 2 seasons. Hope the boys make winning the games a priority over bootycalls and hookups.

If you knew how much time the players put into their mistresses over in Oz you wouldn't be surprised how shit their away record is. Bodene was just the tip of the iceberg.

We're already looking a much more balanced side with a ton of experience in the likes of Harris, Beale, Hiku and Blair, I can see us picking up a lot more away games than in recent seasons. All we really need now is a more experienced 6, Ata and Mason need more mentoring. No way we get the spoon, I reckon we're a good chance for the 8 with that draw, including two wins over the Dragons. The run home after round 19 looks fairly achievable:

1 Sat March 10 | 4.00pm | Rabbitohs, nib Stadium, Perth - Win

2 Sat March 17 | 5.00pm | Titans, Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland - Win

3 Sat March 24 | 3.00pm | Raiders, GIO Stadium, Canberra - Win

7 Fri April 20 | 8.00pm | Dragons, Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland - Win

9 Sat May 5 | 7.30pm | Wests Tigers, Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland - Win

10 Sat May 12 | 5.00pm | Roosters, Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland - Win

I've no idea how the warriors are going to get me excited for next season, apathy has well and truly set in and looking at the draw I can quite conceivably see us winning only 1 of the first 6 and at best 2-3 of the first 10 and then presto season over again.
Seriously cant believe how depressed I am looking at that draw.:sour:

Well, from a lover of the game point of view, the better team we play the more interesting it is.

Not overly keen on the start but...

Add to that the Friday night and Saturday games and I'm stoked.

There were reports a few weeks ago that we were playing a double header in round 1. So that is not a surprise. It was nice of the NRL to throw us a bone and give us a home game this year. That was the first since 2012. At the start of the year I had a quick look at the draw from 2012-2017 and any other side if they played away round 1 the following year they would usually get a home game the following year.

The last few years the analysis of the draw has usually had. The Warriors have one of the easiest draws playing the teams expected to struggle twice and last years top 8 sides once. Well that hasn't worked out and eventually things were going to be tougher. This competition is tough, we find most sides a struggle so lets embrace the old cliche of one game at a time. Even when we get 3/4 of the way through the comp and want to debate if we win x amount of game or win this and that to make the finals as that hasn't worked either.

Analysing how tough a draw could be is tough as some of the fancied sides struggle while others recruit well and perform better than expected.

I've heard over the years people complain that the Warriors struggle with the easy teams and beat the top sides. I'm sticking with that mantra leading into 2018.

Phone screen if anyones interested.

Cant wait for the Round 14 trip down to Chch. Hope the team show up unlike the Panthers game there last time when Tyrone Peachey tore us a new one...

At this time every year I like to analyse the draw a bit more intently.

The Warriors draw this year is tough. Lucky we seem to be the real deal.

7 of 10 games around and after origin are away. One of those 3 home games is away from Mt Smart in Christchurch, which has been a tough task in the past. We really need to cash in over the next few weeks on some of the weaker teams and a string of home games.

The teams we play once are predicted by Sportsbet to finish 6th equal, 10th, 12th, 14th equal and 14th equal

We don't play our 1 game against the Knights (who I am not convinced are going to still be performing at the back end of the season) until round 22, and Canterbury until round 23.

It is interesting to read the NRLs analysis of the draw before the season (talks about the Broncos dream start lol). I like the point about a tough draw meaning you are battle hardened by the time playoffs rolls around. https://www.nrl.com/news/2017/10/19/how-tough-is-your-clubs-2018-draw/

The finals will feel really good this year when we make it.

So we have an easier draw as it turns out because we don't play ourselves.

The Aussie tab are running a bet for the first game the undefeated teams lose.

They have the Warriors versus Broncos (you can bet we lose) and they have the Dragons V Warriors (you can bet on the Dragons having their first loss in that one).

Not very attractive bets. The Dragons have the history and the form to win that round, and the Broncos odds at Mt Smart are the same.

Gotta laugh at that table now...we are one of the teams advantaged by not facing ourselves...not so much the Storm, Roosters etc.

To be positive, the Roosters were our real test so far and the next one is the Dragons. We got an A+ by most here for the roosters Game. I think we will beat the Broncos, they have been our bunny for many years. Nothing like warriors games at suncorp and all the warriors chants.

Yep hell of hard draw. First thing I noticed this year. But I didnt expect us to beat Souths or the Roosters, I knew we could but going on prior warriors. I honestly think our fitness levels have our defense so on tune our offense is a result of posession and completions, alongside a LOT of second phase play from Harris and Luke offloads.

What scares me is the Dragons even at Mr Smart. in 5 Rounds they already have a For and Against of nearly 20 points. Our defense is great but theirs is better so far.

Ill be happy if we get to SoO 7/10. We are usually more like 3/10. If we can pick up 3 games and go 10/13, we need 3/11 games to make the 8, but of course everyone is hoping top 4.

My expectations from the team pre season was, prove my belief that we are fitter and Kearney will move from completions to Defense, which he has and its working. 5/5 wasnt even in my head.

Yes we have a VERY hard draw this year, but if you want to be the best you have to beat the best and if we beat all teams at least 1/2 and some of the top 8 teams 2/2 it will give us the mental edge going into games. Perhaps the luck of the draw is meant to be.
