General 2017 Warriors Trial Matches

Spoke with a mate who went to the Warriors last training run at Sunshine Stadium. Said it was stinking hot and the heat will be a huge factor tomorrow. Shaun Johnson was running free and in sublime form cutting the defence apart...

Shaun Johnson was running free and in sublime form cutting the defence apart.............Your mates got fucking sunstroke !!! Princess cutting the defence apart , get a grip , oops sorry I take it back Shaun Johnson could cut through the defence since it's the Warriors defence at a practise .o_O

It's gonna be 37 in Brisbane tomorrow so the Sunny Coast will be at least 33 and close to that at KO. It's a 5pm KO which is pretty stupid this time of year

Looking at that squad is it possible they are going to play Maumalo in 2nd Row.
The only thing I have going for Maumolo is that Welly reckons his is the goods.

Any comments about the Warriors poor defence will be welcomed. Fans have had to put up with it for too long...just saying like.

Looking foward to this trial game tonight.
Hopefully the live stream from the Warriors site works well.
Go the Warriors!

A dumb question from a dumb guy......But......

Is there a way to watch the game later or does the stream only work live?
I finish work at 11pm and can't watch it live.

Feeling a bit gutted that I may miss out, I've been Warriorsless for months and the nines didn't scratch the itch.

Very few people care about how a second string trial team beat a third string Titians team in Whangarei last year but everyone remembers what happened in Nelson.

I just don't think its right to judge the season, or SK as a coach, based on this week's results - next week will give us a far better indication on his direction and the teams progress.

Just gives Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Shaun Johnson some combo time and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to practice being captain.

And maybe see which of the youngins put their hand up for first grade

To me, the 9's are dead and buried. Next phase: the pre-season games. Let's see how they come out of those. After the Storm, and the Palmy match against the Titans, will there be another one before the regular season starts? Or is there always 2 weeks in between?

Here are the Quickest Warriors

The Warriors record several times as part of their training, with a focus on 10 and 30 metre sprints.

What will shock you is that two of the three fastest players over 10 metres are forwards.

Ken Maumalo is the only back who features on the short list, with Sam Lisone and Pat Sipley recording the fastest times over 10, although we haven’t been given their times.

Over 30 metres, the backline comes into play, with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Tui Lolohea, Shaun Johnson and Holden Cup winger Lewis Soosemea the quickest.

It may indicate that we are all slow.

Or the backs weren't putting in.

Or shock horror Sam Lisone is the fastest.

Wasn't expecting that. Nek minit Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will be captain and Tohu Harris Harris will sign for next year

Sorry mate you might be out of luck there, unless the Warriors or Melbourne Storm websites replay the stream again at a later stage.
Ill keep an eye out for a replay for you and post it here if I find one.

Two things immediately spring to mind.

1) We see stats like this every year. Maumalo is quick, Vatuvei is quick, blah blah, once you're on the football field it doesn't matter what time you get in the 10 or 30 second sprint. If you look slow on the football field compared to the opposition then no personal best sprint time is going to help.

2) It further backs up my thoughts that the biggest issue with most of our players is that they lack footy smarts and anticipation. If you don't see danger coming and only react to it once it becomes obvious then chances are it's already too late to make up for it. No ability to anticipate = lose.

There's a reason why some guys have great careers despite not being the prototype athlete, they think faster than their opposition can run.

I wouldn't read into a second half fade out too much for either team.

With 5 1/2 hours before KO, it's terrible here, even the locals are bitching about the heat

The website hosting the stream is https://livestream.com/accounts/12168250/events/6993029

I live in Japan and all NRL games are broadcasted live for free on this website for international fans. https://livestream.com/nrl
It has DVR function and the games are archived for later viewing. The Storm/Warriors game is not being streamed by the NRL, but I would think the game should remain on the above link for later viewing.

I hope that helps.

That site might be geoblocked for Australia/NZ because it's set up for countries that don't have a proper broadcaster. Might need a vpn to access.

Sounds all to complicated for us simple farming type, any chance anyone on radio might be playing it?

I'm assuming with live stream you have to pay a membership in order to watch it?????

The NRL account is definitely blocked. But the stream is being hosted from that site on a new account. It would have to work in NZ and OZ

Livestream is free, but the NRL account only works in regions where the NRL is not broadcasted.

Sorry to sound like a dumb f@&k, but that means that as someone living in NZ I won't be able to watch it through the link reported?
