I like both these teams but have always liked the storm since 99 grand final - my first and only one i went to. Would like to see Cronk go out on high as think he is a champion player - should be a good game all the same. Lucky peeps that are going today - have fun guys.

I like the Storm too, and the big 3 have entertained me for years even though they are always playing for the opposition.. but I want the underdog to win.

Taumalolo has been amazing this year and it would be great to see he awarded the Clive Churchill medal at the end of the match

Unfortunately, I think that no matter how well anyone else plays, it would be a miracle for anyone outside of the Storm's Big Three to win it. Even now I can imagine someone racing around at the NRL HQ to find a dice and dividing the numbers between the three of them before tossing it to decide the winner!!!

I don't believe there is tbh, the PNG Hunters look like they played their final last week and failed to turn up today, typical Panthers style footy too, give them a sniff and they can run up a score pretty quick.

I'll always regret not shouting myself to the 2011 Grand Final for my 30th as I'd initially planned during that year.

I blame Van Halen, if they hadnt pulled out of the concert that was supposed to be happening a few days beforehand on my birthday in Melbourne I wouldve been there with bells on.

Oh well.

So nrl.com saying 9.15 kickoff? I guess Ill just mosey on down to one of my mates place or to the local bar a 10 minute stroll from my place (no sky in flat).

Nope...expect it to start after 9:30pm. Apparently this is the last year ch9 can dictate the start time

The 7.15pm (AEDT) advertised kick-off for tonight’s NRL grand final has been delayed by 15 minutes thanks to broadcaster Channel Nine.

The Melbourne v North Queensland decider will now start at 7.30pm to ensure Nine gets the opportunity to run their most lucrative commercials of the season while four million viewers are glued to their sets waiting for the game to start.

NRL spokesman Glenn Jackson told The Daily Telegraph big games are often delayed to ensure the 80,000 fans get into the ground on time.

Not so.

The kick-off time is actually decided by the broadcaster under the NRL’s television contract.

The later the kick-off the more Channel Nine’s advertisers get in prime time.

Thankfully this is the last year Nine can determine starting times.

It is a huge frustration for fans on Origin nights and even Friday night football with kick-off times often delayed for the network.

Under the new TV agreement which starts next season, the NRL has full control of the playing schedule and kick-off time to major events.

Yeah bizarre... they break away after the State match to play a McIvor sky speed segment above of some shitty Alfa Romeo car going around a track followed by a 30 min highlights package of last weeks game.
