Mannering has always been the real leader of the Warriors and Kiwis even though he no longer bears the C next to his name. But I don't think he wants to captain any side anymore. The obvious candidate is Foran I guess but its not a deep bench.

we were with them for the first part of the game and probably even on top but when we got into their 20 we blew it with last tackle options that did t come off, we can't seem to get the ball, to stop in the in goal aussie get one crack down our end and nail it. once they are on top on the scoreboarx we lose all shape. I am not a dk fan but it came down to individual skills in that first quarter, we execute beter and we are ahead. same problem we have in warriors, lots a possession, can't finish it or build pressure.

O how things change so quickly. We thought we were into a new era of kiwis dominance. It was only short lived. Really it was a reflection of how bad sheens was as a coach and selector. Meninga knew he had to have a bigger pack to face us and he had no problem finding 6'6 130kg forwards that make us look tiny.

We never were going to be dominant. It was a smalle period of time where Aussie were remoulding their winning model and now we and the rest of the world seem light years away again.

Finally the Anzac test is over. What a cursed game it has been. It may be refreshing to not have to play it again. What have we learnt? The arl is big brother to little brother nzrl. We play their game on their terms in order to survive.

The NZRL will always be told what to do and when to do it until it decides not to take it from the Aussies. 16 Anzac tests in Aussie to 2 in NZ. 16 Aussie wins 2 kiwi wins. Would say that's fair. If it was played home and away each year I wonder what results we could've had. We actually have played well at home in recent years. We just never get the chance too. NZRL needs to grow a pair and get some home games against the Aussies.

I agree we need to stop playing Aussie. It's the most uninteresting game of the rep weekend. It doesn't have any mana or prestige anymore. Everyone treats it like a hiding from some mates at a BBQ. It doesn't mean much anymore or maybe it never did. I don't even think a 3 test series should be played. I honestly think meeting only in tournaments would do us a world of good. Let's give Samoa Fiji England France and other nations a go. We gotta move past Aussie as the only competition. It's so dull.

We need to let go of the idea of a kiwi coach. It's ancient philosophy. Successful international teams in any sport employ anyone who can get results.

I don't blame kidwell but the NZRL for selecting him and mismanaging kearneys departure. This has been really poorly handled. The 2013 debacle has now risen again with new cocaine addicts one being the captain. There are still cultural issues in the kiwis organisation.

its time for a new direction. Maybe it's a new rivalry with England and Samoa. The Aussies is old and we don't care anymore as players and as fans. Our international programme needs a reset and finally the stupid Anzac test has come to an end. But I doubt the Aussies will play yearly anymore. It may get to the point where they only play in World Cup years.

Unfortunatly tho we will probably start regularly thrashing the poms and Samoa, think we are great then meet Ozzie in the World Cup,and get thrashed again.......

I read all the journos rubbishing the team and the NZRFL.

For as long as I am aware, and that is going back to the days of George Rainey as head of the NZRFL the ARL has treated the NZRFL very poorly, even insultingly. Sure there have been some duds as head of the game here, but not all have been. People like Ron McGregor , George Rainey and more lately JD were top class administrators but have had to put up with the poor treatment from the ARL.

In the old days, especially when they got flogged 24-3 at Carlaw Park in 1971 Sydney clubs signed many of the cream of the Kiwi team so they never wore a Kiwi jersey again. In those days the NZRFL did not allow players outside of NZ to play for the Kiwis, just like the All Blacks do now.

It might sound a dumb move but in those days league lived off gate receipts more than TV income. The local Fox competition was the bread and butter and if they had allowed Sydney to poach the cream from Auckland the game here was dead.

So all the Kiwis played in NZ, mainly in Auckland and they used to beat the Aussies just as much as they do now.

The difference was many of the tests were played in Auckland, at a packed Carlaw Park with the locals reminding the Aussies of just where they were.

So not much has changed. The ARL are still a bunch of short sighted selfish self interested wankers.

Somebody once said that although Australians are of English descent, if they started off in Australia they would never have found their way to Eng;land.

The international game should be in much better health than it is now. Most of the b;lame belongs with the ARL.

Then Mel Meninga has the cheek to blame the Kiwis for not promoting the Anzac Test...sheesh.

Oh, and one more things Proctor and Bromwich are going to cop flak for snorting coke, funny thing is that although there were allegations the Roosters players were doing the same thing last year nobody was interested.

As long as I have been involved in the game players have been doing drugs, sometimes worse than coke. I don't do drugs, have never even smoked cannabis, but I don't get shocked by those who do, especially league players. My guess is no more league players do coke than the general public, so the reflection on the game is nil. Just saying like.
