nothing wrong with spandex or dressing up as brett hitman heart or cyclist or greenies some of there views are ok by me... or more to the point having a few beers if not driving or bothering anyone takes all sorts to make the world go around 7's lost sight of that clamped down on drinking from 100 bad eggs in 35,000... name a town of 35,000 that dosnt have a dozen arrests a day on the weekend be tuff to find one...

I live in a holiday town, every summer we get a blanket alcohol ban, people get fined for stepping outside their gates with a stubbie in their hand. It doesn't matter if it's the first beer of the week or if the are totally mulleted. The problem with these types of rules is no common sense is shown. The same thing happens if you choose to walk, being responsible, no driving, to a party carrying your grog I have seen the cops make people open the bottles and tip it out, I have even watched one cop, a local arsehole, stop a car full of young guys, make them open their boot and then force them to tip out the beers that were in there. All that type of stuff does is piss people off, not make the streets safer.

I just clicked over from the Nines to the ODI and it looks like a bigger crowd in the cake tin than there was for the sevens.

Interesting point is the Sydney sevens has a hell of a lot more people than the welly sevens, dare I say possibly par with the Auck nines. Granted it's the first tournament in Sydney so it's got the novelty factor but it's already more successful than the other Aus versions and in a league heartland

Slightly less empty seats
They can always find 30000 accountants lawyers and doctors to turn up to a one off rugby occasion in Sydney. It is a big city after all.

Same as London - you wouldn't know a game was on but there'd be 80,000 at Twickenham.
