BTW in NRL 360 the night before i heard the reporter dude, name escapes me atm, say that he thinks its time they started to reign back in the hype surrounding Origin. He correctly identified players from other countries and states were starting to have a much bigger impact on the game and that as they had more involvement that the reality of a game between only 2 of the 5 states had less relevance. He did state that what made origin better than the average game was the players took it personally, but that it was overdoing it with specialist coaches and 10 days lead up where 3 of those days was just players sitting round resting etc...

Putting in Ennis and Maloney together, and sticking with them, would be a start. #6? I don't know.

Speaking of that show, having Walters and Daley as regular guests, they are hardly likely to rip into each other in the media to gin up some interest, preferring soft targets like the refs.

The first 10 minutes are always tough, but the hate has gone out of it.

No one was interested when Thaiday dropped Gallen on his head, pretty terrible tackle, years gone by someone would’ve cleaned thaiday up in response.

Has the sense of everyone happy to collect their generous paychecks for the series, some of the newer players like Frizzel rip in, Tamou and the like are just showing up for the cash.

Even QLD only burst into life when they feel NSW is coming to get them, mostly just cruising along.

All contributes to an exhibition feel, has more in common with an All Stars game than the pinnacle of the sport. The NRL playoffs are at higher level than this, let alone full strength test matches.

No way Paul Gallen gets dropped for Game 3. It'll be his swansong...

It actually really annoyed me that Rabs made a clear and concise point "This is the pinncale of our game".... No it fucking isn't.

International League may be small fry on the world stage but it's becoming a damn site more competitive and attractive than watching Origin three times a year.

At one stage they also called it "the highest level of our game". I believe this was after one of Gaigai's tries (not too sure which one, was a few drinks deep by then)

Well fark that got me really worked up. Rewound it and replayed it a few times before quoting it to a few of my mates and going off on a major tangant half way through the game.

Really irks me when those sort of lines come up. It's not the highest level of the game, and I'm damn sure a fully fit Kiwis team would knock over both them sides out there last night.

get rid of Daley !! picking on reputatution, not form !

Greg Bird, Gallen, Farrah...wtf ! got to go...maybe more, but didnt think those 3 should have been picked at the start of the series

i assume this wont happen till after game 3 but c'mon, great players dont make great coaches / selectors IMO

That Thaiday punishment for the tackle is way too lenient. They need a red card for that. Of course you would have to watch out for Ingles trying to jump and spear himself. One is accident, twice is a coincidence but three times was suspect. Two weeks doesn't deter anyone. That tackle could paralyse someone. Surprised they haven't learnt their lesson.

Yeah, what's even crazier is that Daley and even Gallen himself played it down. Doubt it would have been played down if we had another McKinnon incident. As a parent watching the kids run around each Saturday morning, that's a parents worst nightmare. NRL mate, when it comes to keeping that stars in the main attraction the judiciary resembles NZ's legal system - a joke! But if a Kiwi made that tackle you can bet there would have been a lengthy suspension.

Tedesco for No.1 because if Moylan wants to play dummy half put jersey 9 on.
Won't happen but Trboavich for Gallen because Gallens a greedy pig.
Graham for Greg Bird because Bird is an Origin player from the 80s.
Peats for Farrah because Peats offer more out of the ruck and he won't bully the halves.
Anyone for Tamou he needs to transfer back to NZ Maoris nah hangon leave him for the Aussie team.
Bird for Jennings because that bolo is jinxed man.
Lastly get rid of the NSW mafia Bob Fulton to start with oh and their coach Laurie what's his name.

This is all looking good the upcoming 4 nations...I'd rather the kiwis play the Dad's army which is Queenstralia then a young Australian team.
