The whole game had heart. Keeping the opposition at bay after continued attacks at your line from both teams takes a shit load of heart. The scramble defence from both teams was the best I have seen since the ANZAC Test. Not many highlight reel moments for those that just wanna focus on the tries (typical Warriors fans!) but the defence from both teams should be put in textbooks as an example to every league player in the world as to how to defend your line.

My heart was in my mouth with every unrelenting attack...

Test match footy gets me more excited than this.

Origin really is "Mate against Mate" these days. No blood sweat and tears compared to the Kiwis.

Its quality footy though, that cant be denied.

The real question is, did the Bronco reps bash themselves enough for us to win this weekend? probably not.

Im almost ready to give up on the Blues. Why didn't Wood and Klemmer get more minutes. Metre eaters. When you add Gallen and our favourite Aussie Tamou you wonder how they didn't steamroll them. Meh. Queensland definitely have the better team spirit. You would think the Blues would have come up with a star or two in the halves in the last decade since Fitler. Queenlsnad have Milford and DCE waiting. I smell a long line of Queensland wins.

Well back to Mr Robot DVDs and Six Million Dollar Man reruns on Sky TV for me ... ) I have first thirty two years of Origin on DVD that you are more than welcome to come around to my house and watch with me at anytime. You do you will see almost thirty two years of gut wrenching, relentless, bruising defence, bustling tackle busts, mad scrambles and constant grinding, gruelling in your face type of attack. The kind of rugby league that truely speaks to the heart of any fan. The kind of rugby league that the fans are now screaming out for to replace the over technical, over thought out, don't pass ball until your over 50 metre line unless you plan on passing it out to an unmark winger, kicked it into goal line area to get repeat set or bomb it on last, rugby league that we've got now. Yes this origin game was still better than most games we've seen this season but in comparassion to alot of other origin games that I've seen, I'm so sorry, but this was nowhere near it. That's why I agree with Danpatmac when he calls game crap now. Using an 80s reference I'm sure that we can all understand, State Of Origin to me has gone from being WWF to GLOW (Glorious Ladies Of Wrestling). It's an inferior product now ...

I'm Kiwi first but QLD hard. Lived in Qld the majority of my life..grew up on my league and the mighty Morons, leaguie hard since a young kid.
To me State of Origin is not the pinnacle of league it used to be.
With so many Maori/NZ and Polynesian/Fijian excelling at the highest level of rugby league these days, but not eligible for origin, it's hard to see Origin as the top dog anymore. Times have changed.
I'll always love my Morons, faithfully.
Buy i just don't see State of Origin as the ultimate anymore.
It's the best of the Aus states..not rugby league.

Well said, I'd like to also add, just for the Origin games, surly the gloves can come off, like anything goes, no players can go on report for anything, bring back the biff. They show UFC on sky, go figure.

The game has become to bloody PC and boring to watch. Nothing beats Origin of the 80s, and the modern game is just sad. Yeah the whole setting a bad example for the kids, bla bla bla, so don't let them watch it, hell it's on late enough anyway.

It will never happen, the games gone soft, and i'm just not that interested anymore. But glad the Morons took the first game. ( My family live in Queensland )

The Morris no-try got close to the line but just because the touchie took a wild ass guess, doesn’t mean it should stand, the bunker overturns everything these days.

O’Neil dropping a bomb was fair enough, NSW should have had a scrum, but a few minutes earlier they ruled a QLD knock on when it came off someones head. Jennings knocked one on in the in goal but they had to ruck it out from the goalline instead of the 7 tackle at the 20.

Got a cheap high tackle call in the first half, but Thurston was square, played the arm and got penalised in the 2nd.

It all evens out, penalty count was 4-4. In fact one criticism is the refs go out of their way to make sure its all square, i.e. o’niell was a make up for missing an earlier call. IMO.

Even the players were much more restrained in their on field moaning at officials than usual, they just got on and played.

Stats are almost identical for the game, not much between the teams and here’s lozza blaming the refs, it will be pretty funny if it works and QLD get railroaded at lang park just to ensure a decider.
