Yeah but we're not allowed to play any of them in the halves. As facefacts pointed out, if we play them in the halves and they do well they'll leave.

2. Lolohea
5. Hingano

Nice try Ata, we needed it.

Now that they have made the decision to shift Tui to 6, I can't see us retaining Ata for much longer, the kid is really starting to look the goods and it would be criminal to hold him back in Reserve grade until an injury strikes.
We are doomed to lose one of them now IMO

I would much rather play Ata over Tui at 6 and move tui to either centre or wing with Fusitua at the back. Manu to continue growing in the reserves.....

Yip Manu can finally work on his deficiencies. Catching the ball and defence.

Yip totally... long time coming. And once he learns he will be a great prop bench rotation.
Too much raw young talent there now out wide time for the beast to move in where he should have been two years ago

I'd rather he moved onto super league. Don't need him taking up cap space whilst learning a new position and teaching young players bad habits.

Super league sounds good but we still have big money tied up in him and Konnie. At least he is worth something as a running reserve prop until the contract is finished

Well it proves Mooks has no B plan his pig headedness not to pick Benji and to run a hooker at stand off has cost a test, he pushed Harris to centre and he got to look like an out of position player when he got smoked on the outside! Mooks plays makeshift hookers and we get no go forward ball, every time Brown passed he stood up looked then passed and stifled any momentum we were trying to build and our forwards couldn't get any dominance he then made multiple changes all at once and we looked lost, I blame none of the players and the coach must cop this on the chin! Roos played shit and just locked us out!
See that's why he failed at NRL level he can't accept change and is too rigid just like when he played, he had one style and never won us a game on his own back, yeah turning up to training and video sessions and licking coaches arses can be beneficial to EGOs! but bruthaz we should be winning every test or going real close with ALL the players at our disposal but when you have a 'playing games' coach we will never have years of domination, I bet Kidwell wanted to strangle Mooks, lets see what happens now?

Actually I was a big critic of the strategy of playing players out of position. But during the game I could see why he did what he did. He played Tohu Harris opposite Inglis, and yes Inglis scored anyway-but Tohu Harris still kept him largely at bay. We lost size and strength in the centres with SKD and Whare ruled out, and Kahu at FB. So, in that sense I think the ploy worked to a degree.

Hooker..Luke gave off a pretty sombre vibe during the last week, so he pretty much counted himself out by saying Mooks shouldn't pick him. Benji has showed in the last 2 years that Benji has a higher opinion of himself than the rest of the world do. Declined a resign at the Tigers and now Dragons because he believes he is worth far more than $300k. Such high-mindedness is not what the Kiwi team is about these days. Hence SBW was never considered last stint either. In the long run, he made the correct decision because he has employed the ABs and Breakers 'no dickheads' policy. And it has really cemented a stoic, gritty attitude within the camp.

I was proud of the boys. They didn't win, but they did the best they could with what they had. In the past last night would have turned into 56-0 in no time.

He also ended putting Nikorima at 6 as Tohu Harris had to play centre. It would have been interesting to see how that would have played out. I thought Lewis Brown was crap-he was slow. But I can't blame him as he has been a handy second rower-cum-centre in the past. Just not much hooker over the past 6 or 7 years.

Nobody will remember that one-off test in 10 yrs time. So i don't think Mooks is going to regret leaving out Marshall. For the sake of the overall culture and future legacy of the Kiwis he forfeited one less significant game. Maybe if Marhsall and Luke were there we could have won. But I think Mooks retained his and the teams integrity. And look at how they played for him!

that's a pretty strong team there, so all and all not a bad performance, we have come a long way from when we would get flogged by fifty in the Anzac test. In a couple years when the likes of Hingano, Martin, Levi and cherrington come through we will hopefully not have to pick 2nd rowers at hooker.

TBF we didn't have to pick second rowers for hooker or centre this game either, Kearney just chose to.

Also, add TL and Taukeiaho to the injured team and the bench looks half decent too.

The point is, you dont throw young kids straight out of the 20's into the halves if it isn't absolutely necessary, especially in a dumbass team like the Warriors...there is no need to dump all that pressure on the likes of Lolohea or Hingano, we have calmer and far more experienced players to wear the 6 jersey while Tui in particular gets comfortable in first grade.

Maybe we should be learning from the examples set by successful clubs when bringing young players into first grade.

I get the impression most around here think some magical sidestepping young half will solve whats wrong with this club, well it wont, and what happens to the player when the inevitable Warriors implosion happens?
Going by the shit the likes of Kata copped last season even though he was an absolute rookie straight out of the 20's, it will be over the top and unfair.

Where have those NZ Female league Players come from.. the Ferns
Are they Girlfreinds of Rugby League players
Jeezz they played better than a lot of the current Warriors team..That Ferns Fullback was soo awesome
the backward catch at last moment..heading for a Falcon lol.

There passing was immaculate as well..

Maybe grab their coach as a future Warriors coach..

The current coach of the New Zealand team is Alan Jackson.
he is from the NAKI...even better TARANAKI

That's the point you're making now, and I agree with, it's not the point you were making in the other thread in regards to Tui.

I guess you only took from those posts what you wanted to...the problem as i see it is we aren't going to get the best out of Tui as a half this year or even next, he's far too green, not to mention being surrounded by a head case of a side...sure he looked good in his 15 minutes, but that was an unusually dominant 15 minutes for the Warriors, we all know it's more often than not the other way around.

I would have liked to see him eased into first grade on the wing for a couple of seasons, where he's an absolute natural in both attack and defense, allowing him to become very comfortable with the pressures that come with the week to week grind and the scrutiny that goes with top flight footy, and then hopefully moving him to the halves where we would, if we're lucky, get a couple of quality seasons out of him before he's head hunted by another club.

All i can see happening here is he's chucked in the deep end, the Warriors follow their usual downward spiral after the origin period, both he and Johnson cop the blame as the halves always seem to, and Tui goes backwards confidence wise, but we still lose him to another club quicker than we otherwise would as other coaches will see flashes of what he can produce on the field with the six on his back.

Of course the coaching staff could miraculously dump the dumb ass players who cant tackle or hold onto the ball, convince their team that defense is the most important part of the game, and how they should try it now and then, make good positional selections, pick and use their bench effectively and maybe instill a will to win in their players, oh and maybe somehow convince them to play smart footy for the full 80 minutes. Then Lolohea will no doubt look like a world beater, and my prediction will be way off the mark.

2 years ago kearney pulled Havili out of reserve grade and got him to play in anzac test...it went okk. This week, he didnt wanna pick Luke (for what ever reason), I wonder if he looked at the guy who replaced him as starting hooker at club level the week before...Surely Jezz couldnt have done any worse than Kenny Bromich.

Terrific games from the Ferns, Juniors and Pacific Teams.
Who was the whistle blower in the PGN/Fiji game? Looked to me as tho he wasn't an Aussie? Surely, that can't be right?

Once rep weekend is do done we are going to need something maybe 2 nz teams battling each other and a 4 nations between tonga samoa Fiji and png stand alone rep weekends would be the way.

I am not enthused about State vs State mate v mate and I haven't been for around 5 years or so that samoa tonga game last night matched it last night in intensity and atmosphere I would much rather watch that than nsw v qld

We had no game plan!! Yes the boys played tried hard but the fact remains we scored NO points!!! how can this be a feather in Mooks cap?? we can't just give away test matches, we WERE number 1 in the world what is wrong with keeping that spot? do you think the AB's give up tests because they don't want to play certain players or play players out of position? the Roo's were rubbish and we played down to them because we had no plan A or B.

Good thoughts on the 4 nations.

The ARL and NRL need to shift their control of the game to even the balance of power so Australia and NZ can't monopolize the best Pacific players.

Fuck Origin the Aussies hang that crap over our boys head then change eligibility rules to suit themselves, Kiwis have made the NRL what it is today why not include a Kiwi origin team or let Kiwis who meet the criteria to play origin and for the Kiwis? I think big Artie would agree.
