Instead of going off topic I thought I'd make another thread.

Hoffman to have a stand out year for TITANS. Benji and Widdop combonation will start to come alive in 2015. be interesting to see how furgesson goes in 2015. The Warriors to make top 8 easy some good signings that would have cost unders. Hope Bodene gets some good minutes. Tomkins should have blown out the first year cob webs and should improve. Be a career defining year for Shaun Johnson. Dark horse team will be the KNIGHTS.
I predict hard times for the Dragons and depending what money Benji is on he may be gone mid season or at least replaced by a junior. He doesn't have the pace anymore, and thats always been his thing, pace and footwork. Widdop may carry them but he doesn't look half as good as he did at the Storm either. Then they rely on Dugan like the Eels relied on Hayne, pencil both those teams in for bottom 8.

Warriors 7, 8, 9 or 10 again, a mid table finish. The 2015 draw isn't going to be as sweet as 2014. A lot of hope rests on the shoulders and Hoffman and Townsend and whoever is the hooker and thats most likely Friend (only possibly Leuluai imo).

I predict a Warriors V Bulldogs Grand Final.
It will be 12 all at halftime
With 3 mins to go its 16-12 to Bulldogs
But then a big hit up from Ben Matulino 20 meters out from the line, offloads to Johnson who is hanging around in support, Johnson spots a gap and runs through it before putting in a sweet grubber kick to the corner for a charging Manu Vatuvei who scoops it up and puts it over in the corner.
Johnson kicks the goal from the sideline.
Warriors win Grand Final 18-16.
Keepin the faith, Letsgone mighty Warriors!

I think in 2015 we'll see the tightest competition in the leagues history... You have a few teams coming back to the pack, and some others on the improve which I think will culminate in an exceptionally even comp.

I think teams like Souths, Melbourne and Manly are in some way or another going to be less effective than they were last year... Whether it's through a loss of hunger, age, loss of vital players, etc etc - these traditionally strong teams are not going to be heads and shoulders above the rest like they have been in recent times.

Conversely I think in teams like Cronulla and Newcastle are going to be massively improved from their showing last year, who both had extremely trying seasons for reasons out of their control (and both of whom were in the 8 the year before). I think the Broncos will see a degree of resurgence in form as well.

Then you have clubs like the Roosters, Bulldogs, NQ and the Panthers who all have very strong squads and are heading into season 2015 virtually unchanged and were all in the 8 last year.

Even clubs like Parra and Wests I expect to be very competitive in some games - but in the case of Parra, the loss of Hayne will simply be too much to overcome, dispite a very effective forward pack. And with the Tigers, their youth and inexperience to once again tell in the back half of the year.

The only clubs I don't think stand even the remotest of chances to do anything special are the Titans (though I expect them to be at least marginally better), Dragons (who will still no doubt beat us) and the Raiders (who hopefully we'll smash by 50 both times again - never gets old smashing Sticky).

And then I come to us... I think we will be better - possibly a lot, potentially only a little, but to some degree we will be better. The amount that we will improve depends - for me - on one thing: Whether or not our forwards (read; props) can give Shaun Johnson (and ST) the platform he needs to do his thing. If they do more often than not, we will be in the 8, and serious contenders. If they don't, well, I still think we will be better, not enough to mount a genuine challenge, but enough to cause plenty of headaches.

Can't wait to see how it all unfolds...

I think your predictions are spot on. I too feel that we may be seeing the last gasps of Manly and the Storms decade of dominance. The big 3 are on the wrong side of the big three zero. Manly have lost the core of their forward pack now Kite, King, Watmough and Stewart are gone

2015 strugglers: Dragons, Tigers,Eels.
All 3 above teams finished 2014 poorly and recruited poorly also. Not much to like about them.
Raiders, Titans and Knights will be close to the 8 but lack of depth will hurt them when injuries occur. They won't have the stamina to be competitive for 26 weeks.
Middle of pack: Sharks, Manly, Souths, Broncos,Dogs and Storm. These teams will be good but not great. Storm are on the way down but always competitive.
Top 4: Warriors, Cowboys, Roosters and Panthers for minor premiership.
2015 will be the year where speed and skill becomes more important than robotic play. Panthers, Warriors and Cowboys will use their ball players most effectively.
2015 will NOT be a close competition at all. Every club has a full pre season and the cream will rise.

I only ever have one prediction every single year. The Warriors to win their maiden Premiership. Im even more sure about next season than I was for this season...
I picture you gasping with more anticipation before each season Watch out, after 20 years you must be close to exploding

It will be an interesting day on the forums when that happens, "WTF, you pack of xxx xxx xxx swear swear swear, rage quit" (thats me every year actually)

Nice top 8, those top 4 teams havent changed much. Burgess v2 has to step up for the Bunnies and replace his brother and I think he will. Dogs hooker needs to prove himself, despite Ennis being an A-hole he was a vastly experienced competitor, they might miss him.

I think the Warriors and Tigers will rebound this year. Tigers I think finally have the right coaching set up. Their biggest issue won't be attack, its defence. Thats why Bodene Thompson is a big loss for them, and why fans criticism of someone like Chris Lawrence, who yes lost some attacking speed, miss the point in how much someone like him can tighten the edge defence.

I think Souths are going to find it difficult without Sam Burgess, and the Roosters creativity will be down without $BW. Parramatta, I can't see them going anywhere but the cellars given the loss of Jarryd Hayne. He was IMO the best player in the comp by some margin last year for what was without him a fairly poor outfit. Gold Coast I think are in for a very tough year, strange recruitment for their coach, Cartwright was a bludger who was given far too big of a rope but Neil Henry is an even bigger bludger who somehow failed to strike gold with the Cowboys. The Knights will be interesting, Sione Matautia is such a dynamic talent. Cronulla have recruited well, but I wonder about the vintage of some of their forwards. Canberra, no hope with Stuart still there. Melbourne I think will go backwards a bit. I think Brisbane's balance is a lot better with their roster changes, Anthony Milford I think will carve up.

1 Cowboys
2 Broncos
3 Panthers
4 Rabbitohs
5 Warriors
6 Bulldogs
7 Sea Eagles
8 Tigers
9 Roosters
10 Storm
11 Sharks
12 Knights
13 Dragons
14 Raiders
15 Titans
16 Eels

I just cant see the Roosters missing the 8, they played a lot of last season without SBW successfully, they have a tonne of depth in the back row. They dont really need him. I think Souths lose more with the loss of Burgess, he was way better than SBW last year

They also lose Anthony Nokiaciello. Yep, his best footy was behind him, but thats a load of experience to lose. So to me they're do on experience and creativity. To me, Pearce is a good organising halfback, but he plays a lot better when someone else is concerning the defence with offloads in the middle. I know they have depth, but IMO depth isn't of the same quality (solid yes, superstar no) and I think it changes their team balance a lot.

Cordner, Guerra, Aubusson, those guys have been solid as a rock for the Roosters the last few years and I think last year they played better than SBW. They are young and experienced.

I guess they may miss SBWs bulk, he was one of those guys who could stop big guys, 6ft 4 and 110+

My prediction: Manu to score a try "only Manu could score" in the dying minutes of the GF to win the match ... Facefacts is not seen again ... until Manu is finally moved to the forward pack in 2017 ;)

No Warriors to be in Dally M contention neither though we finish minor premieres.
Jonathon Wright to finish in the top three try scorers feeding off some Koni highlights.
Shaun Johnson to become the most feared attacking opponent in the NRL.
Allwood to become a wanabe Kiwi after meeting a nice Kiwi girl.
Knights to be the next Warriors and become the team no one wants to face.

I hope the Raiders have a great 2015, as an ex-Raiders fan, but Stuart's such a gimp I also hope they crap out. Decisions, decisions...

Bellamy/Bennett - always preferred Bennett (not that I necessarily think either would go great guns at Mt Smart if they were the only change, other things would need to seriously die/change if they were needed here...) but don't rate either really as 2015 Premiership coaches.

For me the Rabbitohs are the least unlikeable Premiers since the Tigers in 2005. Okay, the "Pride OF THE LEAGUE! Premiers" stuff is going to be overdone and we'll all be sick of it by Round 5 but for me if they went back to back I'd be kinda happy.

Still sticking with what I posted at finals time (or maybe it was before then) last year in terms of preferred Premiers:
Warriors
Raiders - see caveat above.
Rabbitohs
Cowboys
Panthers - only for Cleary.
Otherwise, whoever hasn't been Premier for the longest time/is the least ugly to watch. If came down to a 2015 NRL Grand Final between Crap Boring Team Who Haven't Won Since 19xx V Bloody Exciting Team Who Haven't Won Since After Crap Boring Team Did I'd go for Bloody Exciting Team. Maybe. :)

Yep, that's me. Every New Year's Day/Eve: Hi TAB, here's $20 on the Warriors for 20xx. TAB person smiles broadly. They do well to avoid being unprofessional and laugh.

Over the whole comp, it will be tough to predict. Every season I predict that injuries will play a major downfall for any club losing key players. I still say that.

I suspect the NRL have set a very bad precedent in letting players like Ferguson back in. Off field incidents will play a part. There seems to be a 10 foot tall and bullet proof attitude there. To be fair these guys know they can get away with murder (almost literally). They just have to be stars like Bird, Carney and Ferguson.

The Warriors have had the advantage of new specialist coaching over an off season and IMO have recruited OK. The squad appears quite versatile and has good specialist cover in most positions. This will be vital as the attrition occurs through the season.

They cannot afford to repeat slow start to the season. They have be competitive from the first minute. The talent is there, the depth is there. The experience is there. After the experience of the last few years they should be hungry.

It is in their hands.

Melbourne and Manly to struggle, Manly fast start Melbourne slow strt, Manly make 6-8, Melb don't, injuries to fab 3 don't help.

Warriors 5th or 6th with late fade, feature well in finals though.

Dragons, Eels, Titans and Raiders struggle, Wests and Knights track well all year only to miss out.

Bulldogs, Souths, Chooks, Cows, Penrith, Warriors, Manly and one other to make the eight, guess between Broncs and Knights.

Melbourne 9th or 10th.

2015 winner will come from one these four teams. Cows, chooks, dogs and us. Cows on paper look the real deal and showed in the run home last year.
