NRL NRL Round 4, 2024 Discussion

Because it's 7pm in Queensland?
Is it due to this crazy daylight savings thing that confuses the farm animals if the Queenslanders change it.

It's a bit weird having a big gap between games. But as it's the weekend it's not a big deal. Means I get some gaming in before sitting down to watch it. Better that gaming after the game and ended up a zombie. Who am I kidding I had a nana nap part way through the last game.

Since I started working if I lye down I'm pretty much guaranteed to fall asleep.

Dogs will be better with Taffe in the halves instead of Hutchinson.
They should also start Mann.
Max King is top drawer now.
In a better team he would be considered Origin material.
Kikau impressed me with his defensive commitment.
Curran is the Man.

Stephen Crichton is woefully underused, he should be their #1 and have his hands on the ball 1 to 2 times a set, and how Salmon plays 80 over Curran is mindboggling.

Agree with all in sundry that was a very hard watch.
Did we post at the same time dude.
Chrichton to 1.
Taffe to 6.
Curran to 13.
Kurt Manni is the man.
Salman NSW Cup at best
Wilson on the wing.

Crichton
Ado-carr
Kiraz
Xerri
Tracey/Wilson
Burton
Taafe

Way better backline imo.

They kinda painted their selves into a corner tho with their back rowers.
Preston
Kikau
Curran
Salmon
Mann
All sharing 240 minutes is a bit of a cluster fuck when you want Kikau playing 80...

Agreed. They have massive problems. Ciraldo is over rated - the question is how much influence Gould is having on selections… Hutchinson at 7 is pedestrian but the service from dummy half from Mahoney is also bad - takes three steps to the right or left before passing.

Thank god we have Egan.

Mahoney was given a simple role by Arthur at Parra. Passes off the deck to halves, back up for offloads and when they come spread it.

Seems like Arthur knew his limitations, as he's been given free reign at the Dogs and it has been horrendous to watch.

Is Ciraldo over rated? Or is it the club and/or roster? Or something else or all of that?
Dude was so heralded as the next great coach, I ain't seeing it.

Ciraldo seemed at pains to praise his players efforts in the presser....like a drowning man trying not to lose the dressing room or the ear of the boardroom.

Have to agree with the Fox panel, the problem is the lack of class in the spine, no players that can create the winning try when you need it.

The Dogs should probably stick with him as coach, he seems to be setting a better foundation through defence, which is how the Warriors slowly turned the ship around too, Stephen Kearney while lacking in attacking plays, did give the Warriors a spine again, shame about the Brown era that followed, would have been better to stick with SK until Webster became available.

When a team is so shit that all the belief and confidence is gone, a coach that can get them tackling is a coach you should give a few years before you sack them.

Had a look at what Mitchell was doing on the kick returns in the second half, gave the ball to teammates to avoid the hit up, then plays hooker for 2 tackles then stands behind Cook, another time just disappeared altogether

Charnz or Roger would have taken 2 tackles on those returns

No wonder they say he only has about half of the plays as other FB

What a waste of money for this guy, how much is he worth?

We should kick on the 4th to make him run around then chip behind when we are inside the 40m

Don't they have Toby Sexton in reserves? He'd be a better fit than Taffe.
