Nathan Friend BackFlip

Round 18, Season 2015
The Magic Moment:
Warriors diminutive hooker, Nathan Friend produced one of the freakiest plays in NRL History, when he contested a bomb from Chad Townsend, and not only leapt above Kenneath Bromwich to catch the ball, but then proceeded to defy all logic as he threw the ball between his own legs whilst suspended upside down as he backflipped over the Storm Forward.

The play setup what was then regarded as a surefire contender for try of the 2015 season as Sam Tomkins grabbed the assist from Friend, passed to Shaun Johnson who weaved through traffic before flick passing back to Tomkins, who passed to David Fusitua, who then passed to Tuimoala Lolohea, who himself beat 3 Storm defenders to touch down in the corner.

Nathan Friend stands at 1.72metres, and is one of the shortest players in the game. Not only that, but he is also one of the oldest at 34.

A definite career highlight.
