NRL NRL Round 9, 2024 Discussion

The thing that I am repeatedly learning this year is that there aren't many good teams in the NRL in 2024. This is the most "anyone can win it" season I have ever seen...well apart from the Rabbits

If the Grand Final is anything other than Broncos v Panthers I'll be very surprised.

I don't think it's 'anyone can win it' but it does feel that anyone can finish say 3rd to 13th

What the fuck is the point of talking about disruptors for 8 weeks?
It's like all of the other new rules, or crack downs the last 10+ years. They last a few weeks or come and go during the season.

It is like they don't realise the season is 25-27 weeks. You are supposed to enforce the rules for all of it, not for select games each round or for a few weeks.

Even a few weeks ago all of the commentators were asking what a disruptor was as there was examples not penalised. The next week they discover their whistle.

Besides the blockers disrupting people coming through I didn't think it was an issue that needed a new rule. A lot of the full backs and wingers were still getting a lot of the high balls. This makes it easier for the ones that aren't too great as a lot of teams now hold off on competing.

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have announced that they are allowing cameras into 4 Pines Park to create a televised show for their fans that shows the ins and outs and what goes on at the Sea Eagles, much as "Tales of Tiger Town" did for the West Tigers and "Sunderland 'Til I Die" did for Sunderland.

It's going to be called "Rugby League Meekly".
