There’s not exactly a huge amount of half talent on the market, so happy to re-sign Metcalf 500k isn’t a lot of money in the scheme of things so it’s not a bad deal.

I’m not sure he has the vision or organizational abilities to be a great half but he hasn’t played a lot of first grade. If he stays fit we might see him develop over the course of the season.

$500k is a par (or even slightly under) contract for him tbh
I am stunned he could be on anything sub $650k.
Just goes to show how his injury record has shied away the buyers.

Hopefully he doesn't feel hamstrung by the piddling contract down the road.

Great wheeling and dealing by hot phone CAM yet again, CAM is a serious horse trader with his mate Macca.

Just need Webster and McFadden to grow a prop from within now. Imagine that, growing a million dollar player on the Warrior tree.

Signing SJ on bugger all, considering what he does in games, pretty much set our halves payments at. the lower end, CAM G. again...

boys, if anyone thinks that there are some good propping options in the NSW cup, the propping stocks don’t look great. Even Laban played a bit meh. Jazz Tevaga was the clear pick of the forwards and the backs like Kosi, Graham Taufa, Setu Tu did a lot of work getting our boys on the front foot. We have no dominant prop on the horizon from
What I saw in Fridays game. Some grafters, work horses but it’s a little concerning.

peculation as in will he stay or it means he’s our 6 for the year?

How much is TMM’s contract?

If Metcalfs on more then the clubs backing him and he’s locked in as a starter going forward isn't he?
Speculation if he'd stay or not. More the talk on here with people worried as it passed November 1 and he hadn't been re-signed. Sure as long as he wasn't signed up past that date he could be approached. But it seems like the November 1st date gets blown up too much.

Also being an Australian there is a concern he'd return to Australia.

I was thinking on who would be our 6 for the year or replace Johnson at 7. Injuries come into it so we will likely see others giving an opportunity.

I have no idea what TMM is on. He could be on less being a local whereas keeping an Australian here could mean paying "overs". TMM could also be on more. I have no idea. Paying guys a large amount to play NSW Cup isn't ideal but with the cap increasing there will be guys at that level in the top 30 on quite a bit.

In what regard? The NSW cup wasn’t televised in Oz so didn’t get to see that one.

In the short snapshot of the trials he still seemed to be defensively strong and was constantly backing up the ball carrier. Didn’t get to seem much quality ball on attack though
He played pretty well in cup mate. Give him another 4-8 games and he’ll be banging down the door.
John is just the biggest fanboy of Metcalf you will ever find.

Not true. Just a realist who thinks at this time he is our best option.
Obviously with a new contract Webster thinks the same.
Perhaps my fault is being a fan of the club and not liking our own players being dissed.

The disrespect here shown to Metcalf is so unwarranted, if he was a local everyone would be all on his dick.

The bloke scores a try no one else could score in the team, sets up the other by nearly snaking through and getting an ultra quick play of the ball, also nearly put Jackson over the line as well.

He also gave RTS more than a couple opportunities with early ball but he just couldn’t break through.

He also defended hard and people cry cause a couple passes hit the ground which wasn’t his fault to be fair the whole backline was out of sync Johnsons passes hit the turf a few times too.

Yet people calling for him to be dropped is laughable.

On another topic I think letting go of Sironen was a huge mistake, he is a better hooker than Lussick and I think we are really going to struggle to score points with him on the field, he does’t engage the markers at all and his passing is slow, it allows the opposition to rush our line and we lose all our shape,

It's a shame CHT left when he did, because now he is off the pace and behind the 8-ball.

He was a far more rounded half than Metcalf is and would have suited our current style perfectly.

Playing off Egan's directness, and with CHT's ability to play deep into the line squaring up the defensive line would really set that left edge free.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

He was off the pace and behind the 8 ball before he left

For all this talk about second row depth, we’re actually pretty thin. Capewell runs could keep him out for a few weeks, niukore foot injury (and in prop rotation), ford being a bit of a liability with his errors are the exact wrong times, leaving us with Laban and halasima, two rookies, one who is 18 years old. Doesn’t scream of depth to me tbh.
Barnett might find himself there this coming weekend. Going might even jump Laban at the selection table this week due to his greater experience as well. Sifakula's injured too.
With the exception of the Roosters, if your 2 most experienced Second Rowers are unavailable you've got to rely on a rookie

Rog needs to learn to stand wider & deeper .
Many times he was right on Lukes shoulder cramping the backline.
I am sure Webby will be running drills to adjust during the week.
Agreed, and it will come, no one works on their game harder than Rog, it's a new position, he will get there it will just take some time, Metcalf has the explosive speed to get outside his defender and if Rog is in position then it is going to create overlaps, the real worry is Ford, he can hit some nice lines and bust through but his hands are really letting him down, once Niukore is back I'd probably start him off the bench and see how he goes, he might even be more effective in the middle, he makes good metres off his hitups and get's quick play of the balls, his hands just seem to let him down when he tries to take passes close to the line close to impact

I mean, After this comment you mocked CHT being shit before he left. I suppose CHT being a local and geting no love on his shlong is a contradiction.
I'm not sure it's disrespect towards Metcalf. You know tackling is part of rugby league aye? We want him to be a more complete player. He has flaws in his game. We want him to work on them. That's it. If he gets better, You can hop off his meat & we can ride him together!
